CHRISTOPHER BLAKE LOWENSTINE VALPARAISO,IN Christopher Blake Lowenstine, 54, of Valparaiso, formerly of Princeton, NJ and Boca Raton, FL passed away Friday, April 11, 2014. He was born December 29, 1959 in Valparaiso to Kenneth and Marilyn Tapocsi Lowenstine. Chris graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1978. He attended Indiana University, Valparaiso University, Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, MI, and served with the U.S. Navy. Chris began his career as a professional competitive snow skier, worked as Manager at Marshall Field's Oriental Rug department, and served as an Account Manager with Lexus Nexus/Reed Elsevier where he serviced their NYPD account. In addition to skiing, Chris enjoyed golf, gardening and being outdoors with nature. Survivors include his mother, Marilyn Lowenstine of Valparaiso; brother, John and his wife, Marie Lowenstine of St. John, IN; nephew, Aaron (Melissa) Vagelatos and their children: Kara and Nathan; niece, Amy Smith; great niece, Caelyn Belle Rust; uncle and aunt: Jim and Sue Tapocsi of Valparaiso; their children: David Tapocsi, James Michael Tapocsi, and Leanne Tapocsi; and many more loving cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lowenstine; brother, Richard Jay Lowenstine; and grandparents: Ann and Andrew Tapocsi and John and Marjorie Sullivan Lowenstine. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a private family memorial service will be held with Fr. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Chris' family chose to extend his legacy of life by donating usable tissue to the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
