Frank E. Erfurth, age 94, of Gary, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He is survived by three children: Frank (Barbara Riordan) Erfurth Jr. of Portage, IN, Roberta (Robert) Kicinski of Valparaiso, IN, and Joanne (David) Tapper of Lake Station, IN; five grandchildren: Dr. Frank Erfurth III, Jennifer (Lee) Alan, Steve and Philip Hampton and Rachel (David) Sissman; six great grandchildren: Alexandra, Kaitlyn and Joey Hampton, Cameron Alan, Mason and Aiden Sissman; one brother-in-law, Albert Minniti of Florida; two sisters-in-law: Judith Erfurth of Merrillville, IN and Irene Minniti of Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Erfurth; daughter, Karen Totzke; two brothers: Carlton and Ralph Erfurth; and two sisters: Anna Jeffery and Bessie Erfurth. Frank retired from American Bridge. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 430 in Merrillville. Frank was a member of the Glen Park Masonic Lodge #732 F.&A.M., Orak Shrine and Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN and Friday, November 2, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM directly at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5375 Harrison Street, Merrillville, IN. The American Legion will conduct a service Thursday evening at 6:30 PM, followed by a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM directly at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Merrillville with Pastor Carolyn Heider officiating.
