Isaac B. Cooper Jr., age 87, of Valparaiso, IN passed away on May 1, 2014. He was born on February 4, 1927 in Appalachia, VA to Isaac B. and Ellen Augusta (Leonard) Cooper, Sr., who preceded him in death. Isaac is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Molly Ann Cooper of Valparaiso; sons: Jerry R. (Carla) Cooper of Michigan City, Steven R. Cooper of Portage, John B. (Renee) Cooper of Westville; brother, Samuel L. (Reable) Cooper of River Rouge, MI; sister, Billie Jo Wells of Portage; grandchildren: Lori (Jeremy) Kienitz, Jenny (Dave) Mayer, Sarah Cooper, Stephanie Cooper, Steven Isaac Cooper, Ellen Cooper, Molly Cooper; great grandchildren: Kaylee and Madelyn Rose Kienitz, Aliya and Noah Mayer. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dennis Cooper. Isaac was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the USS Stormes and a member of Bible Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years. Isaac was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed telling stories, singing and playing his harmonica for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an amazing man who always had a "funny" to share. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastors Don Good and Terry Porter officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
