James N. Toscani, age 74, a lifetime Northwest, IN resident, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. James was a retired supervisor for US Steel and a retiree of the Indiana Toll road. On August 29, 1964 James married the love of his life, Jean Courtney in East Gary, IN. James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of American Legion Post 502, served on the historic USS Midway, a former member of the Marine Corps League and a past president of his bowling league. James enjoyed taking cruise vacations with his wife, bowling, going to the casino, playing cards, and visiting with friends. James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean Toscani of Valparaiso; two brothers: Joe (Pat) Toscani of Chesterton, William (Anna) Toscani of Austin, Texas; one sister, Marilyn Aimutis of Lakes of the Four Seasons; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and two great great nephews, and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Nicholas and Ruth Toscani; and brother-in-law, Bill Aimutis. In lieu of flowers donations to Horton VNA Hospice in Valparaiso or to the
