JAMES W. KLINE CROWN POINT, IN James W. Kline, age 76, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2014. He graduated from Lew Wallace High School. After serving in the United States Air Force for four years on Guam, Jim earned his bachelor degree from Purdue University. He was a longtime member and usher at Bethel Church in Crown Point. He retired as a supervisor at Inland Steel 80" Hot Strip Mill. Afterwards, Jim was employed by Bethel church and worked as a bus driver for Merrillville Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louise Kline. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anna L. Kline (nee Viars); one son, Jeffrey W. Kline of Griffith, one daughter, Marla (Jeffrey) Warren of Hobart; four grandsons: Matthew Kline, Joseph, Benjamin, and Adam Warren; special cousin, Joyce (Lewis) Schwarm of Johnston City, IL; former daughter-in-law Lori Ellwanger of Indianapolis; and honorary grandson, Zachary Ellwanger. Friends may visit with the family 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 with Pastor Gary Butler and nephew, Rev. Steven Viars of Lafayette, IN officiating.
