MARION J. TOKARSKI (FILLMON) PORTAGE, IN FORMERLY OF GARY Marion J. Tokarski (Fillmon), age 81 of Portage, formerly of Gary, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. She was born on February 12, 1932 in Troope, PA to the late Alfred and Genevieve Fillmon. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Tokarski; and her son, Walter A. Tokarski. Marion is survived by her loving sons: Stanley (Geralyn) Tokarski of Hebron and Allan (Sandra) Tokarski of Hobart; grandchildren: Tony (Lori) Tokarski, Stephanie Tokarski (Fiance, Kevin Kras); James Tokarski, Lynn Tokarski, and Kimberly Tokarski; great grandson, Milan Tokarski; loving and devoted sister, Joan (Joseph) Torres of Crown Point; caring brother, Alfred (late Rita) Fillmon of Crown Point; and uncle, Charles Libujeski of Endicott, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Marion graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 1949. Marion held numerous jobs in which she excelled in each. Some included working at Westville Correctional Center and ending at AAA Hoosier Home Care. Her real passion came later in life when she graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing. Marion also enjoyed fishing and casino trips with her family and also watching her granddaughters play school sports. Marion will be sadly missed by her family and also by her patients, whom she was devoted to. Friends may visit from 2:00- 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St., Merrillville. She will be taken DIRECTLY to St. Bridget's Church at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday for visitation until 10:00 a.m. for Mass of Christian burial with Rev. Dominic Bertino officiating. Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery.
