MICHAEL A. MIRRO CROWN POINT, IN Michael Andrew Mirro, age 36 of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. He is survived by parents: Dr. John and Mary (nee Hopkins) Mirro of Crown Point; three brothers: Mark (fiance Whitney Durbin) Mirro of Chicago, Matthew (Ashlee) Mirro of Valparaiso, Jon (fiance Ruvi Gunawardena) Mirro of CA; sister, Julie (Greg) Vraniskoski of Crown Point; nieces and nephews: Madealine and Jehnea Mirro, Surina Silva, Cecilia Mirro, Ethan Mirro; aunts and uncles: Marie (David) Edmonds, Dr. Michael (Jeanne) Mirro, Maureen (Michael) Zimmer, Kathy (Henry) Clarke, Dr. Joan Kavanaugh, Dr. James (Gayla) Hopkins, Michael (Karen) Hopkins, Patrick (Jayne) Hopkins, Dr. Frank (Donna) Hopkins, Dr. Larry (Lyn) Hopkins, Edward (Carla) Hopkins, and many cousins. Preceded in death by grandparents Dr. John and Cecelia Mirro, Paul and Mary Hopkins; and aunt Barbara Rusert. Michael graduated from St. Mary's Grade School and Andrean High School. He received his B.A. Degree from University of Notre Dame in 2000 and was currently attending Columbia College in Chicago. Michael enjoyed golfing, studying film, and cinematography. He was very passionate about composing and performing music and was the original drummer of the Umphrey's McGee band. Family and friends at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service (811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point) on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from St. Mary Catholic Church (321 Joliet St., Crown Point) with Rev. Pat Kalich officiating. Services to conclude at the church with cremation to follow.
