RALPH MURRAY TAYLOR FORMERLY OF MILLER, IN Ralph Murray Taylor, age 86, formerly of Miller, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2013 in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born on September 26, 1926 to Ralph and Mary Taylor in Gary, Indiana. Murray was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Mary Taylor; wife, Helen Luck; brothers: Earl and Donald Taylor; and sister-in-law, Blanche Taylor. He was the loving uncle of Kathy Casebere, Mary Taylor, Thomas Taylor and Mark Taylor who survive. Murray was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and Indiana University. He served his country as a paratrooper in the Pacific during WW II. He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and the American Legion. He managed Overby Jewelers and was later employed by Indiana University Northwest in the purchasing department. Murray was an avid sports fan and loved watching any sport using a ball. He excelled at golf and bowling and enjoyed walking Miller Beach with his beloved dog, Henri. A funeral service for Murray will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
