RENEE E. STERN HAMMOND, IN
Renee Ellen Stern, age 77, of Hammond passed away January 2, 2014. Daughter of the late Dr. Sol V. Stern and the late Margaret L. Stern. Survived by best friend and husband, Melvin Morris; sisters: Caren Rouske and Marsha (Tommy Belfer); brothers-in-law: Clarence (Levina) Morris and Tyrone (Lois) Morris; sister-in-law, Linda Tolbert. Dear aunt of Stephanie Bern, Jonathan Rouske, Samuel (Aaryn) Belfer, and Susan (Eric) Bederman. Fond great aunt of Hannah Bern, Jacob Bern, Benjamin Rouske, Jeremy Rouske, Ruby Belfer, Evin Bederman, and Mia Bederman. Renee was a graduate of University of Wisconsin, Madison. She received her Master's degree from Loyola University, Chicago. Renee was a licensed Indiana Real Estate Broker. She was previously employed as Director of Human Resources for St. Ann's Hospital, Chicago, Travelers and Immigrants Aid, Chicago, and Visiting Nursing Association of Chicago. In recent years, Renee worked as a residential property manager for Rosewood Apartments in Gary. Renee was a member of the Embroiders Guild of America and loved needle work. In her spare time, she mostly made gifts for others. Friends may visit with the family at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon January 8, 2014. Memorial service will follow visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the in her loving memory. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends. www.burnskish.com
