RICHARD A. GELON DYER, IN Richard A. Gelon, age 72 late of Dyer, IN. Passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Beloved husband of Judie Gelon for 50 years. Loving father of Dawn (Mark) Deady of Carmel, IN, Mark (Sandi) Gelon of Crown Point, IN, Matthew (Lisa) Gelon of Crystal Lake, IL, Amy (Mike) Morgan of Crown Point, IN, and Michael (Heather) Gelon of Valparaiso, IN. Devoted grandfather of Jessica, Kara and Ryan Deady; Maggie, Grant and Abbie Gelon; Sara, Ally and Will Gelon; RaeAnna, Megan and Nick Morgan; Madison and Brinley Gelon. Dear brother of Margaret Gelon and Albert Gelon. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Gelon; brother John (Audrey) Gelon and sister Verna (late Eugene) Bibzak. Retired employee of Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant, Chicago Heights, IL with 36 years of dedicated service. He graduated from Bishop Noll High School and attended Purdue University, Calumet. A dedicated family man who coached and was involved with many of his children’s sports teams and later enjoyed attending many of his grandchildren’s sporting and other events. His spare time was filled with his passion for woodworking projects. He never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his kindness to all.
