RICHARD S. EUCCE KOUTS, IN Richard S. Eucce, age 64, of Kouts, formerly of Hammond, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso. He was born on November 7, 1948 in Chicago, IL. Richard graduated from Hammond High School Class of 1967. He attended Kansas University and Indiana University Northwest in Gary. Richard graduated from the Academy of Arts in Chicago with degrees in Graphic and Commercial Arts. He worked at Emmett Newman Studios in Chicago, Lan Oak Foods in Lansing, Butcher Shop in Highland, Inland Steel in East Chicago, Costas Foods and Wise Way in North Valparaiso. Richard owned Pine View Graphics, J.J. Stephens Advertising, Inc., and Richard Stephen Graphics in Valparaiso. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Eucce; sister, Linda Eucce; in-laws: John, Martha, and Joanne Samarzija. He is survived by his mother, Miriam (nee Wickstrom) Eucce; loving wife of 41 years, Kathryn (nee Samarzija) Eucce; son, Richard J. of Kouts; daughter, Jennifer (Dustin) Brown; grandson, Joshua Brown of Valparaiso; sisters: Judith (William) Kleinschmidt of Highland, Dr. Andrea (Boyd) Van Der Laan of Buchanan, MI; brothers: Dennis (Marsha) of Hammond, Bruce (Marianne), Steven (Kate) of Bakersfield, CA; sister-in-law, Mary (Dale) Wisner of Crown Point; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was a diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was a member of St. Paul's Church in Valparaiso. Cremation will be held with a memorial service at a later date.
