BELKIN--Abby. The Yeshiva University family is deeply grieved on the passing of Mrs. Abby Belkin, of blessed memory, the highly esteemed and beloved widow of the late Rabbi Dr. Samuel Belkin, of blessed memory, second President of Yeshiva University, who was his caring Ayshet Chayil and fulfilled her role as his wife in the community as a veritable Grand Lady whose kindness, grace and friendly demeanor caused her to be admired by all. She was accorded the utmost of respect, honor and concern by Dr. Belkin's successors and the Yeshiva University Board of Trustees. Mrs. Belkin, a highly regarded journalist was a former Editor of the Women's Section of the Long Island Daily Press and was a speechwriter for Gov. Hugh Carey and a member of the Women's Newspaper Associations. May her memory ever serve as a source of blessings for all who were privileged to know her. May her family and loved ones be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. Yeshiva University Richard M. Joel, President Norman Lamm President Emeritus
