BELKIN--Abby Gail (Abby) (nee' Frosburg), beloved wife of the late Dr. Samuel Belkin, daughter of the late Goldie (Altfeld) and Jonas Frosburg, mother of the late Mathew Polesie, cherished sister of the Honorable Judge E. Milton Frosburg and Judy Frosburg of San Diego, California and the late Naomi Becker, Doris Myerberg, Solomon Frosburg and Alan Frosburg of Baltimore, Maryland, stepmother of Linda Belkin of Long Island, New York, and step-grandmother of Stephen Shuchhalter and Tamara Wagner of Long Island, New York and many loving nieces and nephews. Abby was a die-hard New Yorker coming to "The City" from Baltimore, Maryland when she was twenty years of age and started a long career in public relations, culminating in the achievement as an editor of the women's section of a Long Island newspaper. As such she championed women's causes and produced in the writing arena everything from political speeches for prominent figures to ghost writing for well known authors. As the wife of the Chancellor of Yeshiva University, she became fully involved with Jewish issues world wide and as a supporter of Yeshiva's position in the international Jewish community, she and her husband, Dr. Samuel Belkin engaged with prominent political leaders, scientists, and musicians. She was an accomplished cook whose home was always open to everyone and in which there was always a memorable dinner and conversation. Abby's wit, humor, determination, and love of life will be sorely missed by all whose lives she has touched. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm at the Gutterman Musicant Jewish Funeral Home in Hackensack, New Jersey on 402 Park Street. Donations to Yeshiva University or the ASPCA are welcome.
