WHITAKER--Caleb Clarke, III, of Palm Beach, FL and Cincinnati, OH died March 10 at age 87. Born in Camden, SC, he graduated from Woodberry Forest School and Princeton University. During WWII, he flew B-17 combat missions in Europe. He worked for Gulf Oil, Waller Petroleum and Standard Brands, becoming VP in charge of Planters Peanuts in 1963. He spent 17 years as manager of business and international development for the S.C. State Development Board. In 1984, he moved to Palm Beach and sold real estate until retirement. Mr. Whitaker married Dorothy "Bunny" Wood Price in 1987. Besides his wife, Mr. Whitaker is survived by daughter Amanda; son Caleb; brother Francis; stepdaughter Elizabeth; and three grandchildren.
