MARCUS--Carla Susan, 47, died February 06, 2012 of cancer. Survived and missed by her husband, Sean, her parents, Elizabeth and Irving Marcus, and many friends. A two-time Emmy award-winning producer for NBC News, Carla worked extensively in Europe and the Middle East. Born in San Francisco, she was a graduate of UC Berkeley and earned a Master's degree from USC. Carla was a tenacious journalist who combined an iron will with style, grace, and humility. She excelled under pressure, faultless in her resolve to always deliver the best story possible, often under the most daunting conditions. Carla was well liked and highly respected, and her loss will be felt by all who knew her . A memorial service will be announced shortly. Donations can be made in her name to Reporters Without Borders, my-donation.
