FORSMAN--Carolyn. Award-winning jewelry designer Carolyn Forsman, 69, of New York City, passed away on January 19th. Born and raised in the Bronx, Carolyn graduated from Hunter College High School and New York University, and earned a master's degree in library science from the University of California at Berkeley. She began her career as a librarian and educator before founding her jewelry business in 1979. She was named to the Honor Roll of Freedom in 2001 by the Freedom to Read Foundation and received the Museum Store Association Service Award in 2009. She is survived by her sister, Barbara, nieces Megan and Rebecca and nephew Jason. A memorial service will be scheduled for this spring.
