LUFKIN--Cynthia. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center mourns the death of Cynthia Lufkin, one of the Center's most cherished, inspired, and inspiring philanthropists. An ardent and creative advocate for women with breast cancer, Mrs. Lufkin funded The Cynthia Lufkin Fitness and Seminar Room at Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center. Her generosity created a serene and beautiful space in which our patients receiving treatment for breast cancer can participate in private and group exercise classes, group therapy programs, and an open studio art therapy program, among other activities. Mrs. Lufkin's altruism, energy, imagination, and friendship will be deeply missed. We extend our deepest condolences to her husband, Dan, her children, Schuyler Hazard, and Aster Lee and Daniel Patrick Lufkin, and the other members of her family. Craig B. Thompson, MD President Douglas A. Warner III Chairman, Boards of Overseers and Managers
