BALDWIN--David S., M.D. The distinguished physician and scholar died at the age of 92 in his sleep on December 23 at his home in New York City. Dr. Baldwin was born in Rochester, New York, where he trained at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. For half a century, this tireless pioneer in the origins of hypertension and nephritis practiced internal medicine at his office in Manhattan while teaching generations of aspiring doctors at Bellevue Hospital and New York University Tisch/Langone Medical Center as a Professor of Medicine. Dr. Baldwin was married for 68 years to Halee Jean (Morris) Baldwin, who survives him. He also leaves four loving sons and three daughters-in-law, Neil (Roberta), Andrew (Susan), Daniel (Nancy) and James; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Allegra, Seth, Laura, Matthew, Joshua, and Julia; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Emily; as well as countless grateful patients and their families. Funeral services will be private.
