DePAOLA--Dominick P., DDS, PhD. It is with profound sadness that the faculty, students, and staff of the New York University College of Dentistry record the passing of one of its most distinguished, respected, and beloved alumni, Dr. Dominick P. DePaola, Class of 1969. Dr. DePaola served most recently as academic dean of Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. He served previously as president and CEO of The Forsyth Institute in Boston. Dr. DePaola was the first person to serve as president of both the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and the American Association for Dental Research (AADR). Earlier in his career he served as dean of three of our nation's dental schools, dean of a graduate school of biomedical sciences, and president of two academic campuses. Dr. DePaola was widely regarded as a visionary leader in health professions education and was a frequent consultant to non-profit boards, the academic community, the public sector and private industry. Beyond all of his professional accomplishments, Dom DePaola was an inspiring, captivating, and gracious person, whose kindness, warmth, and collegiality touched all who were privileged to know him. To his wife Rosemary and their entire family, we extend profound sympathy on his loss. Charles N. Bertolami, DDS, DMedSc Herman Robert Fox Dean New York University College of Dentistry
