COHEN--Frances, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus in Psychology, University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco, died on May 28, 2014 after battling pancreatic cancer. Dr. Cohen was raised in Boonton, NJ. A member of the Medical Psychology faculty at UCSF, she co-authored with George C. Stone and Nancy E. Adler the foundational text "Health Psychology" (1979). Dr. Cohen was predeceased by her parents, Oscar H. Cohen, M.D., and Elsie F. Cohen. She is survived by her beloved son, Brett Cohen; sister Anne C. Richards (Fred Richards): brother Alan L. Cohen (Eva Marie Carney); niece Elise Cohen and nephew Marshall Cohen. A woman of great energy, drive, and optimism, her active involvement in Berkeley, CA community organizations continued up to the time of her death.
