HOOD--Frederick Emmart. "Ted", 86, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, an internationally heralded yachtsman, sail maker, yacht designer and builder, died Friday, June 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Susan Blake Hood; his children Richard Hood and wife Carroll McGrath Hood, Frederick Hood and wife Anne Vandromme-Hood, Robert Hood and wife Sarah Hood, and Nancy Hood-MacLeod and husband Norman MacLeod. In addition, the deceased leaves eight grandchildren: Helen, Stedman, Alex, Alyssa, Heidi and Benjamin Hood, and Skyelar and Taylor MacLeod. Brother Bruce Hood predeceased Ted. He also leaves his loving caregivers, Nancy and Kristy Neronha. Burial will be private. A celebration of Ted's life will be held in Newport later this summer.
