STEINBRENNER--George. On behalf of the Department of Pediatrics and all at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, deep condolences on the passing of Mr. George Steinbrenner, a beloved part of the MSK family. He has been a long-standing, generous donor both through the NY Yankees organization and his own philanthropy. He was a trusted and respected friend of the institution. We are particularly grateful for Mr. Steinbrenner's role in our partnership with Yankees Universe: the resolute advocacy and dedicated philanthropy of the Yankees has helped to speed development of more effective, less toxic pediatric cancer therapies. More significantly, it has provided innumerable smiles, memories, and important moments of relief to countless young patients and their families as they enjoyed special days at Yankee Stadium and personal visits from baseball legends, including Mr. Steinbrenner himself. We are so honored to have been touched by his legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Steinbrenner family and the entire Yankees organization. Richard J. O'Reilly, M.D., Chairman Nina J. Pickett, Administrator
