Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

MARGULIS-ALTMAN--Helen. Died peacefully in her Manhattan home on November 24 2012. She was 88. She is survived by her husband, Judge Benjamin Altman. She is predeceased by past husband, Max Margulis, who died in 1996. She is survived by her niece Adrienne Rogers, first cousin Lev Hunt of Corpus Christi, TX, his daughter, Margarette (Cissy) Smith of Hampton, NJ, and several Texas cousins. Born in Dallas to Addie and James Finnell in 1924, Margulis-Altman attended North Texan University. She received her MFA at Indiana University and became a professional pianist and cellist, performing and teaching on both instruments. Her flare for writing landed her a job at Columbia Concerts, New York City, writing program notes about known performers, many whom she befriended. Artists and musicians who knew and loved her remember her political verve enveloped by her gracious, warm spirit. A memorial service will be on Sunday, December 16th at 11am at the Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th St., Manhattan. riversidememorialchapel.com
