TUZZA--Joseph, died at 105 years of age in Great Barrington, MA. Born in Messina, Sicily to Flavia and Carmelo Tuzza, he came to the United States as a young child where his family settled in Brooklyn. After graduating from Boys High School and New York University, he began a fulfilling career in the New York City school system that lasted over thirty-five years. In 1974, he retired from his position as an Assistant Principal of Forest Hills High School. He and his late wife Mary, also an educator, lived in Manhasset for forty-seven years. In his later years, Joseph maintained his vitality and sharp mind, which amazed everyone he met including those with whom he played bridge just weeks before his passing. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Palumbo, grandsons Matthew and Marc, granddaughters-in-law Sarah and Wendy-lin, great-grandsons Lucas and Alexander, a sister Rose, and a brother Thomas. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
