SWICKER--Laura Laura Annesley Chase Swicker ("Annesley"), 81, of Westfield, NJ, and formerly of Castine, ME, died Wednesday, September 11th, at home, after living 10 months with pancreatic cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles Adamson Chase and Helen Waddell Chase. In 1954, she graduated from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA. She married her husband, Richard Kerwin Swicker, later that same year. Annesley moved to Westfield in 1959, where she earned her master's degree in education from NYU in 1969. She embarked upon a 25 year career as an elementary school teacher for the Westfield Public School System, retiring in 1994. Annesley was predeceased by her husband of 55 years in 2010. Services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 28th, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Westfield. Interment will be in the church Garth, next to her late husband. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pancreatic Cancer Research Center.
