CASTELNUOVO-TEDESCO--Lisbeth Stone, of New York, NY, died on Friday, August 1st, 2014 after a long illness. She was 78. Lisbeth was born in Belmont, MA and received her BA from Smith College. She lived over the years in Florence, Los Angeles, Nash- ville and New York. She was married to the late Pietro Castelnuovo-Tedesco, the James G. Blakemore Professor of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University. She was a scholar of medieval art history, having earned her PhD at the University of California Los Angeles, and was the co-author of "Italian Medieval Sculpture in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cloisters" in 2010. She is survived by her daughters Diana and Costanza Castelnuovo-Tede- sco. A private memorial service will be held in September. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lisbeth's memory to the Metro- politan Museum of Art. Please specify that the gift is in memory of Lisbeth Castelnuovo-Tedesco and include the additional instructions of "For the Department of Medieval Art."
