ANNENBERG--Leonore A. The Metropolitan Opera Association deeply mourns the passing of Leonore A. Annenberg, a member of our board since 1974 and a Managing Director at the time of her death. Individually and through The Annenberg Foundation, Lee and her late husband, Walter, were among the most generous donors in the Met's entire 125-year history. In addition to their long tradition of underwriting new productions, the Annenbergs made important leadership gifts to strengthen the Met's general endowment and, most recently, to create the Annenberg Principal Artist Fund. We will forever be thankful to Lee for The Annenberg Foundation's immediate and extraordinary gift in 2005 to help continue the Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts. We cherish the memory of our dear friend, whose dignity, charm and graciousness on her many visits to the Opera House will long be remembered and greatly missed. We send our sincere condolences to her family. Christine F. Hunter, Chairman of the Board William C. Morris, President and CEO Mercedes T. Bass, Vice Chairman Peter Gelb, General Manager
