BROMBERG--Marvin William, a longtime New Yorker, died May 5, 2014, after a two year battle with glioblastoma. He was 88 years old. Born January 13, 1926, in Brooklyn, Dr. Bromberg was the only child of Velvo (William) and Ruchel (Rose) Bromberg, immigrants from Ukraine. A graduate of New York University, Dr. Bromberg served as a dentist in the Air Force, and for over fifty years, his practice was a magnet for artists, writers and creative thinkers throughout New York. A loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Dr. Bromberg is survived by his wife of 62 years, Penny Derris Bromberg, their two sons, Craig and Todd, their wives, Hilary and Veronika, and four grandchildren. A private graveside funeral will be held at New Montefiore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dr. Bromberg's memory to Voices Against Brain Cancer.
