I just learned of Paul's passing and it disturbed me greatly. Although I had not seen Paul for quite a few years, I have such vivid and fond memories of him. We first met when I was a law student doing a directed research project with the NYC OMB and Paul was one of the OMB officials assigned to work with us. Working with him greatly influenced my career choices. A few years later we crossed paths again when he would frequent the Sheridan Square Bookstore where I worked part-time at night even while working my first job as an attorney. We caught up again at HPD where we worked together and then later when he was heading OMB and I was handling budgets for another City agency. Throughout those years I had the pleasure of interacting with Paul professionally and also out of the office. He was always brilliant, engaging and armed with an acerbic wit! I was sorry to lose touch when we both left City government and I relocated geographically. I always intended to reconnect and I am mournful that I never did. I am sure Paul's family knows that he touched the lives of many people in such a positive way.

Dear Robin: I learned today about Paul's passing. I'm shocked and saddened by this untimely loss. I worked for Paul at Healthfirst and was in constant awe of his astonishing intelligence, which was joined by an engaging dry wit and, most important, his love of family. My thoughts are with you and the children. Sincerely, Sharon Sheer
