FRELINGHUYSEN--Peter H. B., loving husband of the late Beatrice P. Frelinghuysen and proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather to a grateful family. A man from a different era, he was modern in his outlook. He found his vocation in politics and was blessed with an inquisitive and critical mind. Passionate about plants of all kinds, he delighted in his gardens, collecting palm trees in Maui and his favorite daffodils in New Jersey. In conversation, he choose his words carefully, mixing wit with an occasional barb. He found wonderful companionship playing bridge, where he showed his competitive side. With his late wife Bea, he had beloved friends of all ages from every stage of his life. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 3 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 121 South Street, Morristown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of The Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge 241 Pleasant Plains Road, Basking Ridge NJ 07920 or the Raptor Trust 1390 White Bridge Road, Millington, NJ 07946.
