SCHOOR--Robert S., DDS. It is with profound sadness that the students, faculty, and staff of the New York University College of Dentistry record the sudden passing of one of our most distinguished, beloved faculty members, colleagues, and friends, Dr. Robert S. Schoor. Since 1998, Bob served the NYU College of Dentistry as program director for its postgraduate program in periodontics and clinical associate professor of periodontology and implant dentistry. His career as a periodontist, dental educator, and leader in his specialty spanned five decades. He served as president of the American Academy of Periodontology, a member of that organization's board of trustees, and as a director and co-chair of the American Board of Periodontology. Bob was a regular reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology, a prolific author, and a nationally and internationally renowned lecturer. All of us at the NYU College of Dentistry know that Bob Schoor was much more than a list of his professional accomplishments. Profoundly generous to the hundreds of residents whom he mentored and inspired, he was also a caring clinician and trusted advisor to his faculty colleagues. Bob's office was regularly filled with faculty and residents, eager to learn from him. We miss him immensely. Charles N. Bertolami, DDS, DMedSc Herman Robert Fox Dean New York University College of Dentistry
