SEIDER--Rona Osterweil, died peacefully January 7, 2013. Beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, stepmother, grandmother, and friend, was an attorney active in the New York State Women's Bar Association and the American Civil Liberties Union. Born on March 7, 1933 and raised in Long Beach, NY, she attended Alfred University, New York University, and Hofstra University School of Law. She worked in private practice and went on to clerk for New York State Supreme Court Judge Beatrice Burstein. Throughout her life she was an advocate for civil rights, women's rights, and the Democratic Party. Wife of Hal Levy; mother of Mitchell Seider and Shari Jacobson; mother-in-law of Lisa Beck and Dave Jacobson; stepmother of Paul Levy and Nancy Huvendick and Dan Levy and Chingchai Wanidworanum; and grandmother of Will, Charlie, John, and Elizabeth Seider, Nick and Cate Jacobson, and Sam and Joe Levy, she inspired and brightened the lives of all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale, NY on Wednesday, January 9th at noon.
