ZIMMERMAN--Sylvanus Arnold III, died November 11, 2013. He was born January 28, 1920. He graduated from Blair Academy and then Princeton University in 1942. He then served in the Army in the Pacific. After four years in the Army, he then entered Harvard Law School and graduated with the class of 1948. He then served under Arthur T. Vanderbilt, the chief justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. He then worked for Wallace and Tiernan, until joining Avon Products as General Counsel. He was there for twenty five years before retiring to his home in New Vernon, NJ. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Marshall Zimmerman of seventy years. Also surviving are his three children, Dr. Sylvanus Arnold Zimmerman IV, Sally Marshall Zimmerman of Sonoma, CA and Todd Kilpatrick Zimmerman of Connecticut, and his grandson, Sylvanus Arnold Zimmerman V, a lawyer.
