WELLS--Wayne, 89, of North Palm Beach and St. Louis, died peacefully in North Palm Beach after a long illness on December 23. An avid Cardinals fan, he attended spring training, keeping stats on his beloved team. He also loved Iowa, good restaurants, the arts, travel, his friends and family. Mr. Wells was born on a farm in Cantril, Iowa, and served in the Navy. He graduated from the University of Iowa and quickly became a partner at Arthur Andersen & Co in New York City. He also worked at Deering Milliken, Mohawk Data Sciences, General Dynamics, and Alltype Fire Protection. He served on the Vestry of The Church of St. Michael & St. George. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Burchell Wells; his brothers Van and Dwight; his children Jeffrey (Serena) of New Canaan, Linda of Manhattan, Jennifer of Novato, and David (Anne) of Darien, along with eight grandchildren and countless friends. He was predeceased by his brother Donald. Hismemorial service is on January 11th at the Lost Tree Chapel.
