CALLAGHAN--William, Chairman of Sterling Possessions/Thistle & Bee, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in New York after a brief illness. He was 70 years old. Born in the Bronx, Bill graduated from Fordham Prep and Fordham University and received his Master's of Business degree from New York University. In 1987, Bill co-founded Sterling Possessions/ Thistle & Bee, a fine sterling silver jewelry, giftware and clothing manufacturing concern with offices in New York, Florence, Hong Kong and Bangkok. Bill took great pride in Thistle & Bee, the firm's signature silver brand, and the extensive private label business through Sterling Possessions, LLC. Bill leaves behind his many relatives, business associates and cherished, long-time friends. He also leaves his nephew, William Castagna and his business partner of 26 years, Richard Castagna. A Memorial Reception will be held at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24th from 6pm8:30pm, with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Children's Aid Society of New York.
