ADAMS--Worthington Miner, 89, of Rye, New York and formerly of Farmington, CT, passed away peacefully at his home in the Osborn on Thursday, (April 8, 2010). Affectionately called Pop-Pop by his children and grandchildren and Worthy by his friends, he was the son of the late William H. and Mary C. Adams and spent his childhood in Cedarhurst, NY. Married in 1949 to the artistic and beloved Anne Backus Adams (d. Oct. 8, 1997), Pop-Pop leaves his four children and their families. Linn Adams Seidensticker, husband Brad and children Timothy, Anne and Kristin. Mary Adams Lines, husband Steve, and children Samuel, Peter, and Henry. Worthington Miner Adams, Jr., Cecil Backus Adams, wife Jill, and children, Hannah, William, and John. Andover '38, Yale '42 V Lax/Squash, World War II veteran, Navy Lieutenant on Sub Chaser SS 743 operating in Pacific. A manufacturing executive he was President/CEO of Smyth Manufacturing. The family wishes to thank Benne Konadu for extraordinary loving care. Pop-Pop encouraged everyone to give generously to a charity of their choice.
