Duane Billington Naples, FL

Duane Billington, 66, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully February 16, 2013 after a brief but brave fight with cancer. Duane was born in Mayville, WI to Geraldine Truskowski and Ray Billington who both preceded him in death. Preceding him as well was his sister, Darlene Truskowski.

Duane is survived by his son, Jason Billington and Jason's fiancé Tiffany; and grandchildren, Cody, Paige, and Summer, all of Naples, FL.

Duane was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and very involved as a local civic activist. His extensive civic resume included Golden Gate community events, Frontier Days, VFW, various civic associations, and numerous other volunteer activities. He was a community contributor to the Naples Daily News along with many letters to the editor espousing fiscal responsibility and transparency.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the administrative building of the Golden Gate Fire District located at 14575 Collier Blvd., Naples, FL.

A last though shared with a friend from Duane:

Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
