William Douglas Anderson Scarborough, ME
William Douglas Anderson, a former resident of Naples, FL and current resident of Scarborough, ME, passed away on January 21, 2014 at the age of 93.
He was born in Tacoma, WA, son of Harry and Laura Mcleod Anderson. He graduated from the University of Washington and Columbia University School of Economics. He began work at Anthony JJ Rourke MD Hospital Consultants in New Rochelle, NY before relocating to Gorden A. Friesen International in Washington, DC. He then opened his own consulting firm Shotwell-Anderson Hospital Consultants in Washington, DC.
During World War II, he served as an ensign in the Pacific theater on a YMS 8.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Anderson; five stepchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and one step-great-grandson. He is also survived by four stepchildren from a previous marriage.
He was a professional trombonist and a master duplicate bridge player.
