NEW BERN - Mr. Michael Smith "Mike" Crary, 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mabel Hardison Crary and his step-daughter, Lori Anne Cartwright. He was a loving friend, father, and grandfather, who was a faithful member of Doric Lodge No. 568 AF&AM Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Mike was a proud US Navy veteran of WWII, and a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church.

Mike was the owner/operator of Mike's Jewelers in downtown New Bern for over 40 years where he was known as an honorable and respected businessman and friend to all who knew him.

Funeral services for Mike will be 3 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Pollock~Best Chapel, with Chaplain Jim Marshburn officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites by Doric Lodge No. 568 AF&AM, will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Pollock~Best Funeral Home. Mike is survived by his stepchildren, Sandra Wetherington, and husband Jason; and Bruce E. Price, and wife Cindy. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Terry Dawson, Janet Khory, Leigh Anne Harrell, Ashley Grubaugh, Tommy Cartwright, Christina Price, Katherine Price, Michael Price; and 11 great grandchildren.
