Carl W. Shumaker

NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Carl W. Shumaker, age 80, of Newark, formerly of Mt. Vernon, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Frank Austin officiating. A private burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, Danville, Ohio.

Carl passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Flint Ridge Care Center (Generation Hospice). He was born March 28, 1933 in Knox County to the late Harley A. and Cleo A. (Farmer) Shumaker.

Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Licking County Highway Dept. for 13 years and had also worked for the AFL-CIO. He was a past member of the Good Shepherd Church in Mt. Vernon.

He is survived by numerous friends, many of them residing in the Mount Vernon area.
