Elma L. (Hall) Oliver Hall Atwell

NEWARK: A funeral service for Elma L. (Hall) Oliver Hall Atwell, 86, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with her former minister Jack Abels officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Elma passed away March 8, 2013, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. She was born November 13, 1926, in Palestine, TX, to the late Elmer Levi and Jewell Bell (Graham) Hall.

Elma was a retired school teacher having taught Fourth Grade at Madison Elementary in the Licking Valley School District. She was a member of Southgate Church of Christ and The Villages Church of Christ in Lady Lake, Florida. Church was the cornerstone of her life in which she was heavily involved. She was a world traveler and had taught English in Russia. She started the gifted program at Madison School. She was a member of the Garden Club in Florida and was a 25-year Hospice Volunteer both in Florida and Ohio. She was a very sassy lady.

She is survived by her son, Greg (Debbie) Oliver of Wheatfield, Indiana; daughters, Karel (Gene) Muehring, of Morton, Illinois and Marsha (David) Hayden of Newark; grandchildren, Shannon Fowler, Price (Stephanie) Fowler, Melissa (Jim) Denehy, Christopher Hayden, and Ange and Matthew Oliver; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Emery Fowler and Makayla Oliver, and brother, Maurice Hall of Whittier, California.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Harold Hall.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
