Evelyn Marie Sunkle

NEWARK: A funeral service for Evelyn Marie Sunkle, 84, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Mrs. Sunkle passed away February 19, 2013, at her residence. She was born May 24, 1928, in Licking County, to the late Guy H. and Lela (Wilson) Boyer.

Mrs. Sunkle was a 1946 graduate of Utica High School. She was a member of the Eden Church of Christ where she was a former choir member. She attended Central Christian Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose chapter #964, and Druids Rosina Circle #14. Her favorite music was country and gospel. She was a former employee of the Gallagher Drug Co. as a waitress, and a former employee as department manager of the W.T. Grant Company. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed get-togethers and holidays.

She is survived by her sons, Harry L. (Mary Ellen) Bonner of Winchester, KY and Mike (Valerie) Keaser of Heath; step-sons, Cary (Connie) Sunkle of Sunbury and Bill (Sue) Sunkle of Heath; step-daughter, Connie (Carroll) Danielson of Virginia; fiancé Don Ortman of Newark; brothers, Guy Boyer and Ronald (Charlotte) Boyer both of Florida; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a niece and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil F. Sunkle, who passed away July 8, 1976.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
