HEATH: A memorial service for Francis L. Canale, 92, of Heath, formerly of Florida, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Father Michael J. Reis officiating.

Mr. Canale, a retired Vice President for Newark Meat Supply, passed away April 17, 2013, at the Heath Nursing Care Center. He was born May 25, 1920, in Corning, Ohio, to the late Jean Clyde and Catherine (Deime) Canale.

He was a WWII Navy Veteran aboard the USS Detroit. He was a member of the National Association of Bowlers, National Association of Meat Processors, former President of Newark Sportsmen's Club, and lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and boating.

He is survived by his daughters, Brenda S. (Joe) Gamboa of Florida and Mary E. (Steve) Smith of Newark; sister, Marie Doneff and brother, William Canale both of Newark; grandchildren, Sherry, Anthony (Jennifer) and Andrea (John); seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie V. (Redman) Canale; brothers, John C., James, and Joseph; sisters, Jean Ann Canale and Rita English; a stepson, Kenneth E. McVey and grandson, Kenneth P. McVey.

Friends and relatives may gather from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, Ohio 43055.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.
