Karen Ann Sensabaugh

NEWARK: Karen Ann Sensabaugh, age 69, of Nashport, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born October 18, 1944 in Zanesville to the late Robert E. and Jeanne E. (Ritchie) Francis.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday August 23, at Brushy Fork United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family thirty minutes prior to the memorial service. A fellowship meal will be served immediately following the service.

Karen was a Professor of Psychiatric Nursing at Central Ohio Technical College and worked in the emergency department as a psychiatric nurse with Genesis Healthcare System.

She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, visiting all but a few of the European countries. She was known as a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing dishes for family and friends.

Karen took a great interest in many different types of alternative medicine which entails more natural approaches to treating illness. These include, quartz crystals, smudging, healing touch therapy and aroma therapy. She also practiced FengShui in her daily life.

She is survived by three children, Bobbi J. Tucker, Bill (Brandy) Sensabaugh and Scott (Rachel) Sensabaugh; 11 grandchildren, Jacob Staske, Joshua Staske, Jonathan Day, Jonah Day, Robby Tucker, Jessie Tucker, Billy Sensabaugh, Taya Sensabaugh, Maya Sensabaugh, Rylee Sensabaugh and Mylee Sensabaugh.

Karen had many wonderful friends that visited during her stay in the hospital and were with her at her passing. Karen would like to include these wonderful people as her family members as well.

The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
