Larry L. Williams

JOHNSTOWN: A funeral service for Larry L. Williams, 66 of Johnstown will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home. Military funeral honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Williams died Monday, April 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 18, 1946 in Columbus to the late Oretha Virginia (Carter) Williams and Virgil F. Williams of Somerset.

He retired from Lucent Technologies as a production associate with 34 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Ohio Western Horse Association and Muskingum Valley Horse Association. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite orders. He enjoyed showing horses in his youth and was involved with his children and grandchildren showing horses. He was an avid OSU Football and Basketball fan.

He was loved by many friends and family. In addition to his father he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda C. (Gorsuch) Williams; sons, Larry L. Williams, Jr, of Newark, Chad (Carrie) Williams of Croton; grandchildren, Audra (Bret) Kaser , Chase Williams, Owen Williams, Ila Williams; great-granddaughter, Meghan Kaser; father-in-law, Ralph J. Gorsuch of Westerville.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Williams.

Calling hours will be observed 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
