NEWARK: A funeral service for Margaret D. (Ridenbaugh-McWorter) Hannigan will be held at 10AM, Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. Reverend Shawn Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family may call from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.
Mrs. Hannigan, 85, of Newark, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Kindred in Newark. She was born March 31, 1928, in New Philadelphia, a daughter of the late A.T. "Ted" and Twila (Bodine) Holmquist. Mrs. Hannigan always loved working with people and for many years was a bus driver and teacher's aide at the Starlight School, where she assisted with the Special Olympics program. Mrs. Hannigan had been the past State Mother of the Eagles, worked for 15 years in cub scouting, was a past president of the Buckeye Lake Seniors, a member of the Silver Club and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Mrs. Hannigan was a member of the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, David Lee (Margaret) Ridenbaugh of Newark, William Arthur (Patricia) Ridenbaugh of Johnstown, Teddy E. (Dorothy) Ridenbaugh of Newark, Douglas Ridenbaugh of Newark, Joseph (Linda) Hannigan of Newark, Thomas (Gwen) Hannigan of St. Louisville; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul D. Ridenbaugh, Samuel Newton McWorter, John Michael Hannigan and two brothers.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Special Olympics program; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
