NEWARK: A funeral service for Raymond Hatfield, Jr., age 90, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 21 at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Pamela Combs-Roth officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Raymond passed away on January 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 22, 1923 in Stonega, Virginia to the late Raymond and Lou (Wynn) Hatfield. Raymond was an Insurance Agent representing Equitable Life Insurance Company and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and Amplify Ministries. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in England, Italy and North Africa.
He is survived by his son, William "Bill" (Patty) Hatfield of Newark; grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Mark (Jane) Hatfield of Newark, Rebecca (Jon) Redyk of Irvine, CA and Wyndy (Chris) Bunting of Nashport, OH; a brother, Bill Hatfield of Charleston, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Williams) Hatfield, and a sister-in-law, Ruthann Hatfield.
