NEWARK: Funeral services for Stephen D. Fisher, 58, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2013, with Rev. G. Michael Gribble officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Steve died at his home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. He was born in Newark on July 27, 1955 to the late Bernard S. and Constance Lee (Asher) Fisher.
Steve was employed by Dow Chemical where he worked as a senior production technician for 30 years. Over this time Steve developed many friendships and was known for his kind nature, becoming a father figure to many.
He was a 1973 graduate of Newark Catholic High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was an enthusiastic OSU Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. Steve was a member of the Newark Catholic Athletic Association for 13 years and was an avid golfer.
Steve is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Cara Fisher of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tyler and Alison Fisher of Colorado Springs, Colorado, their mother, Janet K. (Morey) Fisher of Columbus; his sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Steve Long of Granville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Newark Catholic Foundation or the Newark Catholic Athletic Association, 1 Green Wave Drive, Newark, OH 43055.
