NEWARK: A funeral service for Virgil G. Morris, 84, of Newark, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating.

Virgil passed away August 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born October 1, 1929, in Bailey's Mills, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Bertha (Shipman) Morris.

Virgil was a 1947 graduate of Quaker City High School and was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War from 1950-1952. He worked for Continental Can and Owens Tech Center. He loved life centered around family and music. He was a piano tuner, square dance fiddler, enjoyed music and played all string instruments. He was a member of Central Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Susie (Schafer) Morris, whom he married on June 19, 1953; daughters, Linda (Bob) Hurst of Newark and Sherry (Rich) Stutzman of Painesville; grandchildren, Brent (Susan) Stutzman of IL, Brian Stutzman of Columbus, Katie (Adrian) Leibas of Newark, and Mollie Hurst of Newark, and great-grandchildren, twins Vivienne and Eleanor Stutzman both of IL, Cooper Leibas of Newark, and triplets, Asher, Bodie, and Cruz Leibas all of Newark.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Christian Church Music Department.
