Funeral service for Allan R. Maier, 86, of Halifax Ave. Daytona Beach, who passed away May 1, 2014, will be held today (Friday) at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill at 4:00 pm with Rev. Father Tim Daly officiating. Friends wishing to call and pay their respects may do so today from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Interment and military honors will be held at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery. A native of Glendale, NY, Mr. Maier moved to this area in 1994 from Westbury, NY. He was a retired auto technician and a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Allan was a member of Elks, Am Vets, and VFW. He enjoyed traveling, boating and horses. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations be made to the , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Gertrude; four daughters, Julie Maier, NY, Susan Neri, FL, Robin DeVito, FL and Francine Craven, NY; a son, Charles, NY; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
